Today's news: A Christian terrorist shot up an abortion clinic in Colorado. I wrote this comment at the Wall Street Journal.

Wikipedia: James Stockdale was a United States Navy vice admiral. He is one of the most decorated Navy officers who had been awarded the Medal of Honor in the Vietnam War where he was a prisoner of war for over seven years. Stockdale was the highest-ranking naval officer held as a prisoner in North Vietnam. He had led aerial attacks from the carrier USS Ticonderoga during the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin Incident. On his next deployment, while Commander of Carrier Air Wing 16 aboard the carrier USS Oriskany, he was shot down in North Vietnam on September 9, 1965. Stockdale was candidate for Vice President of the United States in the 1992 presidential election, on Ross Perot's independent ticket.
Who cares and why did I write this here?
It's what he said at the debate for Vice President in 1992:
"I believe a woman owns her body and what she does with it is her own business. Period."
I wrote this because I think the murderer at the Planned Parenthood facility didn't agree with what Stockdale said.

At Yahoo Answers this question: Is it more important to teach the creation story or evolution in schools?

A famous paleontologist answered your question perfectly. This was written back when Christian fucktards called their magical creationism fantasy "creation science" even though there is nothing scientific about magical bullshit. Now they call their stupidity "intelligent design" which are code words that mean "The Magic Man did it." Calling magic "design" is lying. It's still magic and it's still bullshit.

"Creation science has not entered the curriculum for a reason so simple and so basic that we often forget to mention it: because it is false, and because good teachers understand why it is false. What could be more destructive of that most fragile yet most precious commodity in our entire intellectual heritage—good teaching—than a bill forcing our honorable teachers to sully their sacred trust by granting equal treatment to a doctrine not only known to be false, but calculated to undermine any general understanding of science as an enterprise?"
-- Stephen Jay Gould

The other thing which you probably already know about is the fact that teaching religious stupidity in a public school is a serious violation of the Establishment Clause of America's Bill of Rights. In 2005 Christian retards on a Pennsylvania school board tried to force biology teachers to make a statement about their magical intelligent design bullshit. Every teacher refused to cooperate with the Christian assholes. There was a trial. The Christian retards lost, wasting one million dollars of taxpayer's money to pay the legal bills. Angry voters threw the Christian morons out the window. I never met a Christian who wasn't a fucking idiot. Drop dead Christian scum.

Someone asked at Yahoo Answers: Hi I m 30 years old and want to save for my retirement. I know I should have started saving years ago but I m starting now. I don t know where to start or where to go. My job does not have a 401k. So can someone please point me in the right direction.

Keep it simple. The Roth Ira is a problem because if you need the money before you're old enough you pay a penalty. Also, don't let professional idiots (for example Fidelity and Vanguard) make your investment decisions for you. You do not want to share your retirement income with idiots. You have a brain. You can make your own decisions. You just need to know how to do a few things.

Starting at age 30 is a good thing, much better than most people. Get a Charles Schwab checking account and brokerage account. Everything can be done on the internet including buying shares. No humans required. But if you have a question there are people at Schwab who will for free answer your questions.

Everything at their checking account is free. They don't nickel and dime you like the other banks. You can set up direct deposit for your paycheck. If you need to deposit checks you can mail it in using their free envelops, no post office stamps necessary. Now with a mouse click you can transfer your money between the 2 accounts, checking and brokerage, which takes about 5 seconds.

After much research (I recommend Seeking Alpha which has articles about companies and comments written by very experienced investors) select the best Dividend Aristocrats (companies who have been increasing their dividend every year for at least 25 years including during the worst recessions). The companies you choose should be selling stuff that will be required until the end of time. PG and JNJ are good examples (PG & JNJ are stock symbols, look it up).

Buy shares of the best Dividend Aristocrats, hold for life, never sell, never worry about stock market crashes, sleep well at night. You are only interested in the growing dividend income. Also, with one mouse click you can have Charles Schwab automatically reinvest your dividends for free which will make your income grow even faster.

All this can be done online without humans. If you don't understand something look it up or call Schwab for help. These people exist to answer dumb questions.

Keep it simple. To avoid tax problems do not buy REITs and do not buy foreign corporations. Do not buy corporations who call their dividends "distributions". They should call their dividends "dividends". At tax time you only have to report your dividend income for which the tax is very low, or zero.

Check out the company's website. Check out Seeking Alpha and other places. Research is important. If done right you will never have to sell anything.

The idea that you can buy shares and then hope the price goes up so you can sell for profit is not investing. It's gambling and in the long run gambling can wipe you out. You should be only interested in the dividend income, never caring if the price goes up or down. You will learn how to love market crashes. While the idiots panic you will just calmly buy more shares for a cheaper price and a higher annual dividend yield which will grow every year. Dividends get paid every 3 months. At this time you can let Schwab reinvest those dividends for you automatically for free (if you click your mouse to get this feature) or you can reinvest those dividends yourself in some other company with or without more of your own money.

When you buy shares the Charles Schwab fee is $8.95 for an unlimited amount of shares. This is a reasonable price and it's a one time expense. Once you own the shares you never have to pay any fee unless you sell those shares and you will not be selling because you will hold for life.

What if you get fired (it can happen to anyone)? Not a problem. While you are looking for a new job, in addition to unemployment checks from the government you can depend on your dividend income. Don't sell any shares. Just stop reinvesting dividends temporarily until you get a new job. This is another advantage of conservative dividend investing. You always have that 2nd income to depend on in an emergency. Remember - never sell. This is called "Don't Touch The Principle".

A fucking idiot asked "Do I have to believe in evolution theory in order to become an atheist?" As if facts are beliefs and as if a real atheist could be a fucking creationist. Typical American stupidity. I wrote an answer for the fucktard.

Evolution is the strongest fact of science. Facts are not beliefs. I don't "believe" in evolution. I accept the overwhelming, powerful, and still growing evidence for evolution.

Anyone who denies the established truth of evolution is not an atheist. I would call that retard an uneducated moron.

A fucking idiot who says he's an atheist but denies evolution, how would that moron explain the diversity of life? There is no way a real atheist could deny evolution. Some people are fucking liars. This is one example.

From another comment: "Atheism = Disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods."

That's a definition for fucking wimps. It's like saying "I have a disbelief or lack of belief in the Easter Bunny." The Easter Bunny is not real FFS. Same thing for fucking gods. The wimpy stupidity at this place is disgusting.

A real atheist: 100% certain magical beings (tooth fairy, Easter Bunny, Zeus, Allah, Magic God Fairy) are not real.

FFS this is the 21st century. The human race needs to grow up and stop being fucking morons and fucking wimps. THERE ARE NO FUCKING GODS YOU FUCKING IDIOTS.

Human rights

"That pendulum has arguably shifted more toward privacy in recent years—a position promoted by technology companies that sell products based on the promise that corporate data will be secure from hackers and government surveillance."
I'm an atheist so of course I don't have any plans to blow myself up to kill women and children. Only cowardly Muslim lunatics do that. However I'm curious about a lot of things and I like to look things up using the all-knowing Google. I recently was curious about how suicide vests are made so I looked it up. Later I thought now somebody in the government thinks I'm a Muslim terrorist.
I don't like the idea of being watched, especially not in what is suppose to be a free country. This is not China or North Korea.
I suggest a very simple way to fix the terrorism problem without violating my human rights. Just don't let Muslims in. No exceptions. Our borders should be closed to anyone who thinks Allah is real.
I just noticed Mr. Boucher has the same idea.

KILL ALL MUSLIM SCUM.

Why do Muslims like to scream "Allah Akbar" before they blow themselves up?

Muslim scum

As long as people believe the Quran is the word of Allah there will be religious violence. The solution is to somehow eradicate Islam. Probably not possible because the Muslims are very good at brainwashing children. The indoctrination is intense, even worse than what Christians do to their children. Without this child abuse all religions would go extinct in less than a century.

Donald Trump, a total retard, wants to be President of the United States. To get there he has been calling the voters who like Ben Carson "stupid". Somebody with the name Christopher Ryan wrote a comment at the WSJ about Trump's supporters.

How stupid are Iowans?...................probably not nearly as stupid  as those illiterate low class imbeciles that show up at the Trump rallies with that crazed look in their eyes, spewing their hate and twisted logic. You know the ones, dressed up in sparkly Americana t-shirts and caps. Waiting to kiss the ring of the Whack Job-in-chief Donald Trump. What a sorry episode this is for the United States. A once great nation in serious decline.

"Suicide Bombings Kill Dozens in Beirut Suburb" What a fucking surprise!

"a double suicide bombing"
Thousands of more Muslims are waiting in line to blow themselves up so their magical souls can magically fly to a magical paradise where lunatics can have a magical 2nd life where they can magically live forever.
Christians have the exact same magical fantasy but at least they don't blow themselves up, thank goodness.

What I wrote on November 11, 2015 about Ben Carson at the Wall Street Journal.

This debate will probably not change the polls that show Trump & Carson in 1st & 2nd place, but it seems obvious to me Trump can't win it. According to a recent WSJ video the favorable rating for Carson is 82% and his unfavorable rating is only 6%. Trump's favorable rating is 63% with unfavorable at 30%. Those statistics puts Carson way ahead of Trump. Also, the polls about Carson-Clinton continue to have Carson winning more than any other Republican candidate (see RealClear Politics).
Some of the other candidates might improve a little bit but I don't see them catching up to Carson.
The childish lying and nitpicking about what Carson did a half century ago has backfired. It just made Carson more popular. He has been getting 10,000 donations every day. The cash is pouring in. This country wants a President Carson.

What someone wrote about evolution at a chess.com thread.

Evolution is regarded as the fundamental principle that unifies all of biology, from the level of molecule, cellular organelle, cell, tissue, organ, individual, Mendelian population, species, community, and ecosystem. Evolution says that we diverged from common ancestors. Nothing else explains at once the unity and diversity of life, from the fundamental DNA that encodes all life, to the proteins that form life's machinery, to the structures of cells and organs, to all the species that we see today and in the past, and to the way ecosystems interact.

An older and very wise person wrote about Ben Carson.

Carson is now leading in SC as well as Iowa and several recent national polls.  He is leading by a large margin as first and second choice.  He does better against Clinton that any other Republican candidate.
He has stood up to scrutiny, contrary to your assertion.  But "scrutiny" is hardly the right word.  It has been a malicious attempt at character assassination.  I'm referring to the hit piece in Politico last Friday and the coordinated piling on by the rest of the media.  None of the allegations are true, not even close.  We have a few of the media elites wanting to edit "Gifted Hands" which he wrote more than 20 years ago about events which occurred as much as a half century ago.

How do invest in the stock market without sharing your retirement income with professional idiots, and without having to worry about anything.

http://www.wsj.com/articles/a-year-end-game-plan-for-investors-1447038003

In my opinion most investors are doing it wrong. The idea is to make money, not lose money.
I think this is the only correct way to invest in the stock market: Just buy shares on your own. You don't need anyone to hold your hand. You don't need to share your retirement income with professional idiots. After much research buy only the best dividend aristocrats (companies who have been increasing the dividend every year for at least 30 years, even during the worst recessions). Hold for life. One mouse click (at Charles Schwab for example) will let you reinvest those growing dividends for free. When the stock market crashes that's a good thing because your reinvested dividends can buy more shares.
Never sell. Don't touch the principal. Just watch your dividend income grow. Do it right, start at young age, and be able to retire long before you're old enough to collect social security. For me it doesn't matter if the share price goes up or down. I'm in it only for the dividend income.

Trump is a fucking idiot. He will not be president. Ben Carson will win it.

A UK paleontologist, Richard Fortey

I wrote a comment at a thread about evolution at chess.com: Why people reject evolution

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/why-people-reject-evolution?page=4

I have read 5 books about evolution the evolution deniers have never read and never will read. Denying this basic scientific fact requires going out of the way to know nothing.
Your Inner Fish, A Journey Into The 3.5-Billion-Year History Of The Human Body by Neil Shubin
Why Evolution Is True by Jerry Coyne
The Making of the Fittest, DNA and the Ultimate Forensic Record of Evolution by Sean B. Carroll
The Greatest Show on Earth, The Evidence for Evolution by Richard Dawkins
Evolution, The Triumph of an Idea by Carl Zimmer
These 5 books all explain different evidences for evolution. There is virtually no overlap. But still all the evidence described in these 5 books is only a very tiny fraction of the evidence for evolution. The science deniers have no idea how much powerful evidence they have to throw out to deny the established truth of evolution which is the strongest fact of science.

Religious upbringing linked to less altruism, study of children suggests

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/11/151105121916.htm

"Our findings contradict the common-sense and popular assumption that children from religious households are more altruistic and kind toward others. In our study, kids from atheist and non-religious families were, in fact, more generous," said Decety, the Irving B. Harris Distinguished Service Professor in Psychology and Psychiatry and the College and director of the University of Chicago Child NeuroSuite.

At the Wall Street Journal a comment I wrote. The article was about the childish nitpicking about Ben Carson from desperate liberal loons.

This comment is not about the childish nitpicking about what happened a half century ago. This comment is about why I'm voting for Ben Carson (aka the next President of the United States).
I agree with Carson's idea about government spending, taxes, foreign policy, and allowing exports of oil & natural gas. Please see this 15 minute interview (which you may have already seen because I provided this link a few times before):
I also like what Carson said about skin color which is the way it should be in my opinion.
"The skin doesn't matter to me. I really don't think those superficial characteristics have a place in society today."
"If somebody has a problem with the way that I look, more power to them. Let them sit and stew in it. I just got so many more important things to do than to deal with that."

At the Wall Street Journal I tried to explain reality for a god-soaked coward.

Sir, the title of this article has the words "the immortal soul". That's what I wrote about.

The god-soaked can't exist without the soul fantasy because that means we are just ordinary animals and we are nothing but a stinking pile of garbage when we drop dead, equal to a dead cockroach. That's why the invisible soul was invented. It was an excuse for cowards to pretend they have a magical 2nd life. The god-soaked say they don't believe in magic but everyone else knows that's exactly what they believe.

I would ignore this ridiculous inanity but the magical soul is not a harmless fantasy. It makes the daily suicide bombings possible. Also, children are brainwashed to throw out reality and replace it with a magical immortal soul. This is child abuse and I will never tolerate it.

Instead of complaining, the reality deniers should try to realize they are completely wrong about everything.

Several images of liberal loons. Thanks Google.

Wall Street Journal: Religious ‘Nones’ Multiply in Both U.S. Political Parties The unaffiliated have become largest Democratic group; evangelicals remain dominant in GOP

"Nones—who include not only atheists and agnostics, but people who may believe in God but have no specific religious affiliation—have grown as an overall share of the American population, to 23% of the total, compared with 16% seven years earlier, according to research that Pew released earlier this year."
A recent Gallup poll shows that 19% of Americans accept the established truth of evolution and are certain the Magic Man had nothing to do with it. I think it's fair to say most of these 19% are atheists. The rest are deists who prefer to hide their Magic Man of the gaps before the Big Bang.

What I wrote at the Wall Street Journal about the stupidity of the liberals at the New York Times.

From an editorial at the New York Times where a liberal is criticizing Ben Carson for ridiculous reasons: “These young folks need to know that the way to escape their often dismal situations is contained within themselves.”
The NYT's article actually complained about this quote from Mr. Carson, as if good advice is a bad thing, while food stamps, welfare, and never ending poverty is a good thing. Most of the comments complained about the same quote, and a few other trivial things. Apparently they can't stand the  idea that an African American can be a conservative.
This is another good reason to nominate Carson. If he becomes president (the polls show Carson could easily defeat Clinton) then 8 years later, with charter schools to replace inferior public schools, and jobs being created instead of being destroyed,  the black population will realize the liberals are the enemy and they will never vote for a democrat again.
